Northwoods Summer Cabin
NOW OPEN!
Experience the fun of a Northwoods cabin getaway with summertime favorite activities!

A warm-weather spin on a CMSM favorite!
For the past few years, visitors to the Museum have enjoyed “A Northwoods Winter” (also known as the Winter Cabin) exhibit, which provided play experiences for a Minnesota winter. As the seasons change, new cabin adventures feature similar ideas: to foster the love of play in a Minnesota cabin…but this time filled with summer fun. Go fishing, look for birds and enjoy the beauty of nature.
This exhibit is great for...
experiencing outdoor recreation without getting a sunburn
Dock Fishing
See if the fish are biting on a new lakeside dock, perfect for casting lines to catch the big one!
Campfire Fun
Roast marshmallows, make s’mores, and tell stories around a cozy summertime fire.
Bird Exhibit
Children will have the opportunity to learn about birds, bird nests, bird feeders and even do some birdwatching with binoculars.
