Prairie’s Edge Exploration Backpack Program

May 28 2020
Expired!
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Check out this new program, designed to encourage and enhance nature-based play. Prairie’s Edge Exploration Backpacks are available to both Museum members and non-members and is free of charge (security deposit required).

Each family can check out a backpack full of goodies for one week and use it to observe, explore, and discover nature in city parks, local neighborhoods, or their own back yards. Each backpack includes child-sized binoculars, large and small bug viewer, magnifying glass, fold-up mesh bug habitat, nature activity cards, measuring tape, first aid kit, and more. The backpacks will be available for contact-free curbside pickup at the Museum every Thursday in May, from 10 am – 12 pm.

To sign up, follow this link and choose a date that works for your family. Check out our blog to read more about hands-on experiences with the backpacks.

This project is funded by Minnesota Department of Natural Resources No Child Left Inside mini grant.
