Nidec Power Zone Exhibit Grand Opening

May 29 2025
Expired!
10:00 am - 7:00 pm

Join us for the grand opening of the Nidec Power Zone, the newest exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota in Mankato. This innovative, hands-on space invites children to explore the wonders of energy, engineering, and motion through interactive play.

At the heart of the exhibit is the Power Tower, where kids can generate electricity by cranking a handle—lighting bulbs, powering fans, and launching beach balls into the air. The Air Cars station allows young engineers to design and race wind-powered vehicles using hand-crank generators, fostering creativity and experimentation. Additional features include the Wind Tunnel, where children can test objects in swirling air currents, and the Rotating Zone, equipped with open-ended building tools like Light Play, Rigamajig, and Blue Blocks to promote design thinking and teamwork.

Be among the first to experience the Nidec Power Zone and discover the power of play!
