The Butterfly House at the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota expands nature-based play with a seasonal exhibit where children and families can enjoy the beauty of native butterflies in their natural environment. Species change frequently and each year is unique experience for visitors to the Museum.

Join us at CMSM as we explore in our Prairie Garden for Monarch eggs and caterpillars! Learn how to identify milkweed as well as eggs, larvae, and pupae! As a citizen scientist, you will help collect and record important data to help study and protect the monarch population and migration!

Sign up online before arriving or at the front desk upon arrival. 12 spots for each 30 minute time slot.
