Ag Education Day

Jun 01 2024
9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Join us for a day exploring the world of our local Ag industry!

Join us for the first Ag Education Day at the Children‘s Museum of Southern Minnesota. This is a free and fun filled day to get up close and hands-on with the agriculture industry! Learn about the progress of a soybean or kernel of corn from seed to the meat found in grocery coolers and all of the steps along the way. Many Greater Mankato businesses will be represented along with BIG equipment from each step of the process.

What to Expect

Ag Education Day promises an awe-inspiring environment filled with exploration, discovery, and fun for children and caregivers. Local companies will guide visitors through their step of the process with a safe interactive activity. When possible, the trailers will be open for viewing. You can also expect:

  • More than 10 trucks and trailers
  • More than 4 tractors (large, small, and all colors)
  • Not to mention, Bulkloads (one of our national partners) will be providing a Semi-Sam book for all visiting children*. This story tells young readers the story of people who keep food on our tables and the goods on store shelves. *while supplies last.
  • Interactive child-led experiences.
  • Combine simulator.
  • In the Play Zone, discover even more excitement as you climb through drainage systems, explore corn and soybean pits, enjoy a captivating “truck wash,” and planting your own seeds.
