Write or imagine a story. Create your characters, describe where they are and what they are doing. Gather a variety of props you want to use. Cast family members as story characters, or use them as an audience.
Take your story further by creating a backdrop for your play, by using blankets or a blank wall.
Talk about your characters. Why did you choose them? Why did you choose their actions? Explore music and lighting. Do they change the mood of your play?
