Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota Cultivates Agricultural Awareness with Ag Education Day this June

Mankato, MN – Join the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota on June 1 for Ag Education Day. Ag is so relevant in our region, but many children only “see” it from a bus window. This FREE Museum day gives a hands-on opportunity to explore, learn, and ask questions about the importance of agriculture in our everyday life. Teaching children about agriculture at a young age can help them start recognizing how it impacts the world around them and can help them learn other important aspects about life.

“Ag Education Day offers a unique opportunity for children and caregivers to explore the fascinating world of agriculture in a fun and educational setting. Through hands-on experiences and engaging exhibits, children and caregivers will gain a deeper appreciation for the hard work and innovation behind our food production from seed to table, and of course some awesome trucks including a tall side hopper, a grain trailer, an auger feed trailer and more!” said Rob Grover, Ag Education Day Committee Chair and Grover Farm Trucking LLC.

Ag Education Day will bring 3.5 acres of agricultural experiences to the heart of Mankato’s downtown, including over 10 semi-trucks, authentic tractors, cutting-edge drones, and a state-of-the-art combine simulator. But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Attendees can immerse themselves in the Play Zone, where children can climb and crawl through large drainage tile systems, jump into the corn and soybean pits, participate in a captivating “truck wash,” and plant their own seeds. With these and more engaging activities, Ag Education Day promises an awe-inspiring environment filled with exploration, discovery, and fun for children and caregivers.

“We’re thrilled to host Ag Education Day and provide a platform for children to learn and play while discovering the importance of agriculture in our daily lives. This event is a testament to the local, regional, and national collaborative efforts of over 30 community partners and industry experts who have come together to make this day possible,” Louise Dickmeyer, CEO.

Ag Education Day is made possible thanks to the generous support of our presenting sponsor, Central Farm Service (CFS) – Central Advantage GS. Join us on June 1st from 9 am to 4 pm at 244 Lamm Street, Mankato, MN 56001, for an unforgettable day of exploration and discovery.
