Piloting Paper Planes | CMSMatHome

Good morning from #CMSMatHome!

Let’s pilot paper planes together. Get some paper, pencils, and a measurement tool. Fold several airplanes, making each a little bit different than the previous one. Fly them from the same spot and in the same direction. Measure how far each plane traveled and record the distance. If you don’t have a measuring tool handy, you could use any object to measure the length, such as your pencil, or a book.

Further Your Learning

  • Create more planes with more noticeable differences between them. Fly them and measure the distance.
  • Add challenges, such as flying them through hoops or landing in a specific place.
  • Check out some design plans for paper airplanes here.
